How we verify deals

Every deal on Big Discount Drops is checked by a person against the retailer's own page before it goes live. Here is exactly what that means — and, just as importantly, what we don't claim.

  1. 1. The price comes from the retailer, checked by a person

Before a deal is published, someone opens the retailer's own product page and reads the current price straight off it. The number on the card is that number — not an estimate, not a cached figure from a feed.

  2. 2. Every card shows when it was last checked

Each deal records the time a human verified it and the card prints it ("Verified 2h ago"). If a check is old, you can see that at a glance instead of trusting a vague "updated" badge.

  3. 3. The "was" price is a real regular price

The struck-through price is the retailer's recent regular price for that item — not an inflated manufacturer list price (MSRP) dressed up to make the discount look bigger. If the current price isn't genuinely below the regular price, the deal never goes up.

  4. 4. We check stock at the same time

A price is only useful if you can actually buy the item, so the person confirms it is in stock when they verify the price. Stock can still change at the retailer afterwards — always confirm on their page before buying.

  5. 5. Deals expire on their own

Every time-limited deal carries a real end time. When it passes, the deal removes itself from the site automatically — so you don't scroll past a sale that ended weeks ago.

  6. 6. If we can't verify something, we leave it out

No invented ratings, no fake stock counts, no made-up review quotes. When a piece of information can't be confirmed, we omit it rather than guess.

We publish daily, roughly 120+ deals a week. Because retailers control their prices and stock, both can change after we check — the card's timestamp tells you how recent our check was. See our Disclosure for how the site is funded.
